"xml_rss" Folder

What does this folder do?

This folder contains data in XML format for use with 20/20 DataShed. Some of this information is static (the _culture_info.xml file for example), but other files are ever-changing as 20/20 DataShed develops on your web site.

As well, this folder stores all RSS feeds that you create using 20/20 DataShed.

Permissions and Security

Server

This file may inherit the permissions from its parent folder; but also requires that the IUSR_<localmachinename> (or equivalent) user account have NTFS permissions to create, delete, modify, and read files.

Internal

This file does not require internal security measures. This folder does not and should not contain sensitive information.

How to Maintain

This folder does not require any maintenance. However, if you or your users have created custom SQL Reports, then we recommend you keep a local copy or backup copy of the SQL_Reports_Quries.xml file. (Note it is not necessary to backup the RSS feed files. If these are deleted or corrupt they will be re-created as necessary by 20/20 DataShed.

Location

This folder must be located in the parent folder of 20/20 DataShed. Errors will occur if this folder is relocated or does not exist.

Other Features

languages.xml
This file can be altered as you wish to customize or translate the text used in 20/20 DataShed. It is possible to create new languages in this file for multi-lingual web sites.
RSS Feeds
This folder is the storage locations for all RSS feeds that you create using 20/20 DataShed.

How to Customize

This folder cannot be customized.
