This file should be a "screen shot" or icon that represents the output of a printable brochure. This .JPG file corresponds to an HTML template of the same name.
By default, there are three of these files:
images/print_template(Default)(1).jpg and templates/print_template(Default)(1).html
images/print_template(Default)(2).jpg and templates/print_template(Default)(2).html
images/print_template(Default)(3).jpg and templates/print_template(Default)(3).html
Together, these pairs of files produce a printable brochure, and an "Preview" or "Thumbnail" image of the brochure. When a visitor clicks to open the printable view of an item, they will see a page which allows them to choose which style of brochure they'd like to print.
Permissions and Security
Server
These files may inherit the permissions from their parent folder; but at the very least it requires that the IUSR_<localmachinename> (or equivalent) user account have NTFS permissions to read the file.
This file does not require internal security measures.
How to Maintain
These files do not require maintenance. However, if you have created new HTML templates for printable brochures, then you may want to keep a local copy of the both the HTML and JPG files associated with those brochures.
Included In (Files)
These files are required by the f-print.asp page.
Other Features
You'll notice that the .JPG image files have information within the parenthesis ()().
The first pair of parenthesis indicates the main category for which these brochures belong.
The second pair of parenthesis indicates the "name" or "title" of the brochure.
For Example
If the HTML template and .JPG thumbnail are named:
print_template(Default)(1)
Then the brochure will be available by default to all main categories and the brochure will be named "1", as in:
Note that the name of the main category (in the first pair of parenthesis) must be altered to exclude "non-word characters". For more information, visit 'Code-Friendly' Names in the glossary.
The parenthesis in the file names for the printable brochure HTML templates and the associated .JPG files must not be left empty. You must enter appropriate information or you may encounter errors. For example, the name "print_template()().html" is not valid.
Produce a "screen-shot" or screen-capture of the new brochure in use on your web site. (Or make an example file filled with example data).
Upload the new HTML template to the templates folder. And upload the new screen-shot to the images folder.
Repeat as you please to create as many brochures as necessary.
In the following example, you can see that three additional templates/thumbnails have been created and the visitor can now select from a total of six brochures to print.
