Each item in the inventory can be associated with an unlimited number of photos and documents. The images are then displayed with the item in a "Photo Module" which displays a thumbnail preview of each image and is clickable to provide a full-size version of the image. Documents are displayed with each item as links which are either opened directly in the visitor's web browser or downloaded by the visitor's web browser (this behaviour is determined by the MIME type of the file and dependent on the visitor's web browser software and preferences).
Each user account can be associated with one image file. Usually, customers use this feature to link to a "portrait" of a sales agent or for the "logo" of a company represented by a sales agent. Any of the "Image Files" file types listed below in the "Supported Photo Formats" section can be associated to a user account.
The following file types are considered by 20/20 DataShed to be "photos" and will be displayed in the "Photo Module(s)" or can be displayed with the contact information of each user.
All other file types are not considered "photos" by 20/20 DataShed and will be displayed as a "document" (and can therefore be downloaded or opened directly in the visitor's web browser).
Note that as of version 1.0.27, 20/20 DataShed includes a checkbox/toggle which enables users to explicitly define any file as a photo. In other words, if an image or file is uploaded to 20/20 DataShed and the user prefers that the file should or should not be displayed as a photo, then the checkbox enables that user to "switch" the file's behaviour.
The file types listed below are considered "documents" and can be associated with the items in your inventory.
Some of the file types listed above are considered harmful and therefore cannot be "uploaded" through 20/20 DataShed -- but 20/20 DataShed may link to such files.
For example, the ASP file format may contain malicious script and therefore 20/20 DataShed does not allow its users to upload such files to the web server. But ASP files which reside on foreign web servers pose no threat to the local web server and is a valid file extension for web media; so 20/20 DataShed does allow users to link to such files by URL.
